NATURE’S PLAYGROUND PHILOSOPHY
SPEND TIME IN NATURE
Ever expanding works of research suggest that nature can improve children’s psychological and physical being when they spend time outside in nature regularly. Nature’s Playground knows of this importance and has created an opportunity for children to get out and play the way we used to play. Independent play mixed with fun experiences and their imagination.
Being in nature awakens our senses, invigorates the body and soothes the soul. It is some of the most cherished experiences of picking up that slimy worm as it tries to dash into his hole, peeling off dead tree bark to expose the micro world scurrying beneath or marveling at the intricacies of a flower petal that incite awe and imagination. Children need to be exposed to these types of experiences to now how they fit into the world.
In our over scheduled world it is necessary to let children have unstructured play time to develop their curiosity, to tap into their imagination, to take risks, and to find themselves.
Outdoor play is fun but most kids don’t know how to play outside. With nature as a setting children get to live in imaginative worlds, role play, and learn important social skills while being surrounded in the calming of nature.
21 CENTURY LEARNING SKILLS
Play prepares kids for real life. While playing in the woods with each other they enhance critical thinking, creative thinking, collaboration skills, communication skills, flexibility, initiative, social skills, and leadership. Play is the way children learn.
